What if I am not a professional photographer?

The association is designed to enhance the skills of anyone who is interested in photography, no matter what level they are at. Through networking, workshops, monthly meetings and themed assignments everyone will have an opportunity to increase their skill level and pursue areas which are of interest to them.

 

Where and when are the meetings held?

Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month and are held at the Scugog Community Centre, 1655 Reach St. Port Perry from 6:30 to 8:45 pm.

 

What will take place at the meetings?

The monthly meetings will feature guest speakers, tutorials, critiquing clinics and upcoming events.

Check out the listing under the ‘Activities’ tab at the top of our website. There you will find information on all of our activities – meetings, outings, workshops and exhibitions.

Regular broadcasts will be sent via email to subscribing members, detailing any new events and photography related information.

How do I find out who the guest speaker will be?

When you check the NDPA site, click on the ‘Activities’ tab for a list of all upcoming events associated with the NDPA.

 

What is the format for the workshops?

Select the ‘Activities’ tab -> then click on ‘Workshops’ to view all upcoming workshops for an outline of our workshops cost, procedure for sign-up, and locations.

 

How do I qualify for various discounts at stores in the area?

By clicking the ‘Partners’ tab at the top of the page, you will see a list of businesses that are offering special discount pricing to NDPA members. Simply present your NDPA membership card and the discount will be applied to your purchase.

 

I want to be involved in exhibitions, but I don’t have any way of printing my images. What can I do?

Exhibitions will be arranged through the NDPA with various venues in Durham Region. If you have photographs you wish to display, but have no means to print or frame them, printing can be provided at a nominal cost.

 

How do I join the NDPA?

Go to the ‘Membership’ tab at the top of the page, then select ‘Join the NDPA’ and follow the steps to conveniently join on-line at any time. Your payment is done safely and securely through PayPal.

If you prefer, you can also join at one of our monthly meetings.

 

What if I want to attend a meeting first, before I decide to join?

We welcome all non-members to attend our meetings for a $10 fee. If you decide to join the NDPA, we deduct the $10 cost from your membership fee.
