The North Durham Photographers’ Association (NDPA) welcomes photographers with levels of experience from beginners to professionals.
We share a love of photography and a desire to learn, have fun, develop friendships and enjoy opportunities to photograph in locations, both new and familiar.
The NDPA holds monthly meetings. Meeting activities include:
- guest speakers
- in-house speakers
- team activities
Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at the Scugog Community Centre, 1655 Reach St. Port Perry from 6:30 to 8:45 pm.
Meetings will start with short member presentations ( less than 10 minutes) and finish with Questions and Answers on topics concerning the mechanics of photography (about 15 minutes)
If you love photography and want to enhance your skills, the North Durham Photographers’ Association is the place for you!
February 11, 2014
Bring your cameras, as we invade the halls of the communitty Centre, looking for great images. Stuart Blower will start the session off, with a look at the tools needed for low light, photography. Be prepared to squeeze the trigger and shoot between heartbeats, as you pickup techniques for taking steady images or producing interesting blurrs.
Workshop: Post Processing
Members can bring their favorite winter photos, up to 8 x 10 in size, for viewing. Stuart and Matt will show demonstrations and field questions about post processing of images. If you have every wondered how to decide if your images have enough brightness or contrast. Or worried about colour correction and when to use it, then this is the place to be.
Of course, after working on the basics, we will hit the slippery slopes of effects such as sharpening, blurring and when to stop applying them. And of course any and all questions about computer stuff and digital images will be answered.
